Alanna Powell
President & Founder

"My life mission is to help others who are suffering from physical differences learn to cope, heal and transcend their difference."

–Alanna Powell

Alanna is a survivor of Alopecia Universalis, and has had to learn coping mechanisms to help her transcend the disease. Alanna has built a successful career in the high tech industry as a change agent, engineering and PMO manager - helping high profile companies like Hewlett Packard, Yahoo!, and Redwood Systems. She is committed to her family and empowering others to live
their lives fully and to be boldly themselves.

Kristin Spitz

Secretary

"Boldly Me has helped me conquer my fears and become a more confident person."

Kristin has a degree in Accounting from the USF, and spent fourteen years in corporate accounting at 3Com Corporation.
She searched for an opportunity to serve others on a larger scale and is very excited about contributing to Boldly Me.

Nina Clymer

Chair of Business Development

Nina brings over 15 years of leadership and consulting in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors in the fields of healthcare, software and human services.

 

Her education includes an MBA from Santa Clara University, a BS in Nursing from Northeastern University, and a Coaching Certificate from The Fielding Institute.

 

As a Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, her vision, strategy and team building talent transformed organizations to the next level, exceeding revenue targets, and creating best practice performance outcomes, asset creation and competitive client-centered market positions. Nina is passionate about helping people and organizations embrace and demonstrate their unique potential.

Alex Nunn

Chair of Physical Health

Dr. Alexandra Nunn graduated from Parker University’s College of Chiropractic after first earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University. It was at Baylor where Dr. Alex discovered her passion for the workings of the human body and its innate wisdom.

While attending Parker, Dr. Alex discovered another passion of hers: caring specifically for the prenatal and pediatric population, leading to a certification focused solely on pregnancy and pediatrics through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. It was through this education that she became proficient in the Webster technique.

When Dr. Alex is not in the office, this self-proclaimed foodie and Texas native also enjoys her yoga practice, attending as many music festivals as she can, and traveling to El Salvador once a year to participate in The Art of the Specific’s Chiropractic Outreach Program.

Richard LaBelle, PsyD

Chair of Counseling

"I am involved with Boldly Me because I believe every person should be okay with who they are."

–Richard LaBelle, PsyD

Richard LaBelle works as a psychologist at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek doing individual and group therapy, works on the Crisis Team in the Emergency Department, and as an independent contract psychologist for Diablo Behavioral Health.

 

Dr. LaBelle is also a pro bono consultant and volunteer for the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area.

Margaret Andrews

Chair of IT & Communications

"Through Boldly Me, I want to show people how they matter and give them the tools they need to build self compassion as well as compassion for others."

–Margaret Andrews

Margaret, a former AVP at Jefferies & Co., worked as a project manager, business analyst, software developer and technical writer.

 

Margaret manages Boldly Me's website, social media and online communications. She also the developer of Boldly Me's Online Academy.

 

Margaret is a published writer of fiction, essays, writing instruction and humor. She has taught classes, done speaking engagements and improvisational theater.

Liz Keshawarz

Chair of Education Programs

“Boldly Me fills the gap left behind by our social structures in supporting young people. It’s the safety net that guides and empowers our kids through self-discovery and self-advocacy.”

–Liza Muzaffery

Liza Muzaffery holds a BA and a MS from the CSU in Education as well as credentials in Teaching and School Administration.

 

Since 1992, she has taught students in elementary through high school, managed educational programs, and school sites in addition to being an avid community organizer. Her unique cultural perspective has been an asset to the teams she has worked with; and students have always been the direct beneficiaries of her efforts.

 

Liza has lived a rich, well rounded life both overseas and in the States, working toward a common good that has been the source of motivation in her personal and professional life.

Janelle Evans

Event Manager

Janelle is the owner and founder of Creative Collaborations, A Women Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE). She began her career in Corporate over twelve years ago with Kaiser Permanente as a Project Manager. Janelle has Master’s in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing.

 

Her love for planning and executing was birthed in 2006 when her cousin asked her to plan her special day for her. Her love for events and entertainment inspired her to create a company that represented love and service. In 2014, Creative Collaborations was founded, and today offers Event Marketing and Design Services for High Profile and Professional clients.

 

Janelle resides in the Bay Area with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys hikes, spinning classes, gardening, reading and family and friends time.
