Our New BoldJourney Program Helps Local Students
One way to help people build a strong and healthy sense of self is to teach them while they are young and Boldly Me is doing just that. For the past few months we've been going into schools and talking to students about self esteem and communication.
We secured a contract with the Fremont Unified School District and plan to serve more than 5,000 students this year. We've aleady visited schools such as Irvington High, Walters Junior High, and Durham Elementary and have spoken at assemblies as well as individual classes.
Self Esteem and Communication Class at Durham Elementary in Fremont, CA.
We teach them about self-compassion and then we show them how to communicate with each other in positive and assertive ways. We bring in our BoldQuest team to perform for the students. Each skit has a message about positive behavior.
Our intention with these classes is to ultimately help increase student retention rates, reduce student violence (whether it's self-harm or harm to others) and raise student connectedness.
The BoldQuest 2015 Team
Our BoldJourney program has received great feedback so far. Recently, five more schools have requested we bring our program to them and some schools we have already visited have asked us to come back.
