We're Having a 24-Hour Party (And You're Invited)!

Before we tell you about our upcoming party, we want to share something with you.

One of the students we served this year through our BoldJourney program, an 18 year-old young lady, came to us living with fears of rejection and failure (this from a girl who was a virtual straight-A student.) She was also suffering some emotional trauma due to a recent death in the family.

After going through our program, including our Relationships and Me class, she had this to say about the effect it had on her mental health and her behavior:

I have learned how to love and accept myself, how to have strong relationships, and how to communicate with others. I have learned that sometimes I self-victimize. I try to think positive thoughts when I'm feeling down and look at myself in a positive way. I try to understand how others are feeling instead of only focusing on myself. I don't stress out as much now because one failing grade won't be the end of the world. I deal with stress better now and I tell myself that everything is going to be OK.

What: Boldly Me $10K in 24hrs (aka East Bay Gives)

Where: Our Facebook Page (and Twitter and Instagram)

When: Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 (12:01am-11:59pm)

What to bring: Your bold self! And maybe a bag of chips in case one of us gets hungry.

We have many activities planned throughout the day (and night) so, come on over and hang out with us. We'll have giveaways, photo challenges, conversations about trending news,...and cats. Or dogs. Or maybe even iguanas.

A special Boldly Me / East Bay Gives Event donation page will open up at 12:01am on May 5th for anyone who wishes to donate to Boldly Me.

All donations made on May 5th will have superhuman power because:

Our Board Members are matching donations dollar for dollar.
The East Bay Gives Foundation is awarding cash prizes throughout the day to nonprofits that meet a specific criteria for that hour. They are giving away a total of $150,000!

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in 24 hours, and YOU can be a Boldly Me Ambassador!
